WHO WE ARE

We all feel the pressure to secure a sense of significance, approval, validation, and love, and we conclude that if we’re going to experience these things, we have to make it happen. Most of us are exhausted because we’re trying to justify ourselves by what we do, who we can become, and what others think about us.

If any of this describes you, Family Church is for you. We are a group of flawed and real people learning what it means to rest in God’s perfect love for us. We are a pack of 21st-century missionaries of grace called to go into the hard regions of human need and struggle with the good news of God’s unconditional love.

Jesus invited weary and burdened people to come to him to find rest (Matthew 11:28). So, at Family Church you won’t hear, “Just do it!” Instead, you will hear over and over again “It is finished!”

Our Mission

We exist to share the freedom found only in God’s grace to a broken and weary world.

Our Message

We don’t pretend life is easier than it is. Our lives, our faith and our relationships are complicated. The heart behind the message of Family Church is the incredible reality that God’s amazing grace meets us all exactly where we are. Our message is the simple gospel if Jesus, which isn’t good advice for people trying to earn their way to God. It’s not life hacks or self-improvement strategies. The gospel is the good news that Jesus came to rescue people who could not rescue themselves. Christianity is not about climbing your way to God. It’s about God climbing down into our mess.

Our Culture

No spiritual résumé required. No dress code. No churchiness. No pretending you have the answers. Come messy. Come skeptical. Come exhausted. Here you’re family.

Our Beliefs

Heavenly Father

We believe in the Eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as ONE God existing in THREE persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; distinguishable but indivisible (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

Creation

We believe in the creation, test and fall of man as recorded in Genesis and his total spiritual depravity and inability to attain to divine righteousness (Romans 3:10-18).

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, very God and very man (Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18; Isaiah 7:14; 9:16).

Christ’s Death & Resurrection

We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples (1 Corinthians 15:14; Romans 4:25).

Christ’s Bodily Ascension

We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven, His exaltation, and His personal, literal, and bodily coming again the second time for the Church (John 14:2-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

Salvation by Grace Through Faith

We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through faith in the perfect and sufficient work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12, 22; Romans 5:11).
